Losing Ground

Ps 1:1-3

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.  But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.  He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.

These days with the proliferation of reality TV and an increasingly amoral society, nothing is glorified more than someone who gets ahead any way possible. On the other hand those who stand for Christian values are mocked as haters, inflexible and intolerant.

So often it seems like we are losing ground daily.

The reality is that most of the people we see acting out are fundamentally miserable. If they can’t be happy, then they’ll make sure no one else is either.

Living in God’s presence is not dependent on situational happiness. It is a joy that abounds regardless of the circumstances.

Living in Florida means that most trees retain their leaves year-round. Living in His presence means that we are grafted into His vine and we get to produce fruit in and out of season.

The fruit is the proof.  What kind of fruit are you producing?
