Say YES (5) - Notes

Blessed are those who expect nothing, because they will never be disappointed
— The Bad-Attitudes

Dutch Sheets

Here’s the paradox: A person who is more passionate for God is more at risk of spiritual disillusionment than a person who has little or no passion or commitment. Proverbs 13:12 states, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick.”

Galatians 6:9

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

So keep saying YES to the holy Spirit!

1 Corinthians 16:7-9

This time I don’t want to make just a short visit and then go right on. I want to come and stay awhile, if the Lord will let me. In the meantime, I will be staying here at Ephesus until the Festival of Pentecost. There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.

John Wimber

Satan is our ultimate enemy, but not our immediate enemy.

Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Revelation 3:7-9

Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open: I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me. Look, I will force those who belong to Satan’s synagogue—those liars who say they are Jews but are not—to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love.

  1. Will we GO thru the door

  2. Or will we NOT?

David Prior

There is one simple lesson, above all others, to be learned from Paul’s experience: the presence of opposition does not mean that we have moved out of the will of God. There were many in Corinth then, as indeed there are many today, who at least suggest that everything goes smoothly when we are properly in touch with the Lord. The New Testament teaches differently.

If courage is a choice, so is dis-COURAGE-ment. So what will you choose?
